As a Senior Engineering Manager, your responsibilities will extend beyond overseeing technical tasks; you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our engineering efforts. Working closely with our VP of Product, Engineering Managers, and Principal Engineers, you will ensure that our engineering practices align with our product vision and business goals, all while fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and teamwork.

Your Profile

Essential Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high-performing engineering teams.
  • Strong technical foundation with expertise in software development and architecture.
  • Capability to make strategic decisions regarding technology and team management.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a collaborative leadership approach.

  • Experience in fast-paced, agile environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
  • Background in the travel or vacation rental sector.
  • Familiarity with our technology stack (we prioritize capable individuals over specific technologies).
  • Experience in scaling engineering teams and processes.

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Travelnest, you will play a pivotal role in driving the success of our engineering initiatives. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Leading multiple cross-functional engineering teams, ensuring alignment with the company's objectives and product roadmap.
  • Collaborating with the VP of Product, Principal Engineers, and other stakeholders to define and implement our technical strategy.
  • Overseeing the development of robust, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.
  • Mentoring and coaching engineers and engineering managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Managing performance, establishing clear goals, and providing regular feedback to team members.
  • Driving engineering excellence, ensuring the quality and reliability of the codebase.
  • Identifying and addressing technical debt while balancing short-term and long-term objectives.
