We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing a workplan of procurements and being involved in the entire end-to-end procurement process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a workplan of procurements and be involved in the entire end-to-end procurement process
  • Work with departmental service leads to identify requirements, conduct research, and plan procurements
  • Lead the evaluation, moderation, and contract award stages of procurements
  • Line manage a small team and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Think imaginatively to procure services and have exceptional attention to detail
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate at all levels, handle conflict, and deal with sensitive situations
  • Use Excel and Word effectively and analyze data
  • Use the Council's e-tendering portal ProContract to run tender projects

Requirements

  • Senior experience in a strategic procurement role
  • Excellent IT skills, including data analysis
  • Ability to use Excel and Word effectively
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to handle conflict and deal with sensitive situations
