Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Procurement Manager to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing a workplan of procurements and being involved in the entire end-to-end procurement process.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a workplan of procurements and be involved in the entire end-to-end procurement process
- Work with departmental service leads to identify requirements, conduct research, and plan procurements
- Lead the evaluation, moderation, and contract award stages of procurements
- Line manage a small team and deliver multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Think imaginatively to procure services and have exceptional attention to detail
- Effectively communicate and negotiate at all levels, handle conflict, and deal with sensitive situations
- Use Excel and Word effectively and analyze data
- Use the Council's e-tendering portal ProContract to run tender projects
Requirements
- Senior experience in a strategic procurement role
- Excellent IT skills, including data analysis
- Ability to use Excel and Word effectively
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to handle conflict and deal with sensitive situations
