Northampton, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. Full time

Position Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for a full-time Consultant Rheumatologist to join our dedicated team at Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust. You will collaborate with three existing full-time Consultants and one part-time Consultant, contributing to the comprehensive rheumatological services provided to our community.

Role Responsibilities
The successful candidate will integrate into our established consultant team and work alongside specialist nurses to deliver outpatient rheumatology care. Our department is a training hub, hosting an ST3 from the East Midlands Deanery, an IMT doctor, and medical students from Leicester Medical School. We actively participate in regional training meetings with Leicester and Oxford.

This role has been approved for 10 PAs initially, with a timetable that includes 4-5 outpatient clinics weekly, support for the nurse-led helpline, and inpatient advice service coverage during working hours. You will also have admitting rights for rheumatology patients, managed collaboratively with ward-based medical teams.

Our department is equipped with a full range of biologic and chemotherapeutic services, administered through our medical day unit by dedicated nursing staff. There are also opportunities to engage in clinical trials through our established research and development unit, which is expanding its rheumatology portfolio.
