Installation Technician - Rolling Contract

Position: Installation Technician - Contract

Location: UK/International

Compensation: £Hourly Rate DOE (Pro-Rata)

Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months initial contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute onsite installation and upgrade projects for RDS machines, ensuring compliance with installation, commissioning, quality, and local EHS protocols.
  • Work collaboratively with the local project team and installation manager to effectively schedule project timelines and fulfill customer expectations.
  • Address onsite issues in partnership with the projects and installation manager to maintain project schedules.
  • Troubleshoot installation challenges, coordinating additional parts delivery as needed and adapting solutions in real-time.
  • Monitor and report hours and costs incurred during installations to the installation manager.
  • Complete all necessary ISO documentation and submit it to the installation manager.
  • Be prepared to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, to ensure timely project completion.
  • Aim to exceed customer satisfaction and inspire the onsite team.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification in electro/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (BSth edition required).
  • Proven experience in an installation/service capacity, preferably within the healthcare/pharmacy automation sector.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical assemblies, mechanical tolerances, and machine construction methodologies (DIN).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure in a client-facing role.
  • Ability to interpret and work from complex mechanical and electrical schematics, including ACAD 2D/3D and EPLAN.
  • Experience with configuring inverters, motors/servo drives, HMI, Digital IOs, and a comprehensive understanding of IT networking structures.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience, particularly with S7, Beckhoff TC2/3, and Schneider SoMachine. Knowledge of VB Scripting is a plus.
  • Experience in the installation and commissioning of intricate downstream transport systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are essential; knowledge of additional languages, especially German, is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with hospital project teams and external client-side contractors.
