Job Overview

Position Title: Installation Technician - Contract Role

Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months initial contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute successful onsite installations and upgrades of RDS machinery, ensuring compliance with installation, commissioning, quality, and local EHS protocols.
  • Work in close collaboration with the local project team and installation supervisor to effectively schedule project timelines and meet client expectations.
  • Address onsite escalations in partnership with the project and installation supervisor to maintain project schedules.
  • Troubleshoot installation issues, coordinating additional parts deliveries as needed, and adapting solutions in the field.
  • Monitor hours and expenses during installations, providing reports to the installation supervisor.
  • Complete all necessary ISO documentation and submit it to the installation supervisor.
  • Be prepared to work overtime, including evenings and weekends, as necessary to ensure timely project completion.
  • Aim to exceed customer satisfaction and inspire the onsite team.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant Level 4 qualification in electro/mechanical engineering or equivalent experience (BSth edition required).
  • Experience in an installation/service capacity, preferably with technologies in the healthcare/pharmacy automation field.
  • Familiarity with electromechanical assemblies, mechanical tolerances, and machine building methodologies and materials (DIN).
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to perform under pressure in a client-facing environment.
  • Ability to interpret and work from complex mechanical and electrical schematics, including ACAD 2D/3D and EPLAN.
  • Experience with configuring inverters, motors/servo drives, HMI, Digital IOs, and a solid understanding of IT networking structures.
  • PLC troubleshooting experience, ideally with S7, Beckhoff TC2/3, and Schneider SoMachine. VB Scripting knowledge is a plus.
  • Experience in the installation and commissioning of intricate downstream transport systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and fluency in English are essential; knowledge of additional languages, especially German, is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate with hospital project teams and external contractors.
