Community Development Officer

Location: Norfolk with travel across East Anglia

Our client is seeking a dedicated Community Development Officer to foster relationships with essential partners and stakeholders throughout East Anglia, customizing support, training, and educational initiatives to enhance community safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish, nurture, and sustain effective collaborations with local communities, volunteers, and key stakeholders to actively engage them in preventing youth mental health crises.
  • Advocate for the prevention of mental health crises by promoting the organization's mission and connecting with individuals directly impacted by these issues.
  • Empower a diverse range of stakeholders to build sustainable and safer communities through tailored support, training, and educational resources.
  • Facilitate training sessions and raise awareness about relevant products for various groups, including professionals, parents, young individuals, volunteers, and fellow trainers.
  • Contribute to the design and evaluation of projects, along with educational and training materials, aligning with the Strategic Plans.
  • Support and promote campaigns, training, and opportunities as outlined in the Area and Strategic Plans.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a community-focused role, delivering information and training sessions, and leading workshops or educational programs.
  • A demonstrated ability to network and cultivate effective relationships, adapting approaches to meet the unique needs of different audiences.
  • Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or a willingness to obtain this qualification.
  • Proven ability to utilize initiative and creativity in developing projects, programs, or areas of work.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations across East Anglia for meetings, events, and training delivery.
  • A degree or professional qualification in Education, Counseling, Training, Psychology, Community Development, or Youth Work.

Compensation: £29,269 per annum (SCP 18), with progression to £32,076 per annum (SCP 23)

Work Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Benefits: The position offers 28 days of annual leave plus Bank Holidays (pro rata for part-time workers), hybrid and flexible working arrangements, a competitive pension scheme, Simply Health membership, enhanced sick pay, and enhanced parental leave.
