Community Development Officer

Location: Norfolk with travel across East Anglia

Our client is seeking a Community Development Officer to foster collaboration with essential partners and stakeholders throughout East Anglia, customizing support, training, and educational initiatives to cultivate safer communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Establish, nurture, and sustain productive partnerships with local communities, volunteers, and key stakeholders to involve them in the prevention of youth mental health crises.
  2. Actively advocate for the prevention of mental health crises, enhancing our client's visibility and connecting with individuals personally impacted by these issues.
  3. Empower a diverse array of stakeholders to foster sustainable, safer communities through tailored support, training, and educational resources.
  4. Conduct training sessions and raise awareness about products for various groups, including professionals, parents, young individuals, volunteers, and fellow trainers.
  5. Contribute to the design and evaluation of projects, as well as educational and training materials, aligning with the Strategic Plans.
  6. Support and promote campaigns, training initiatives, and opportunities as detailed in the Area and Strategic Plans.

Qualifications:

  1. Demonstrated experience in a community-oriented role, delivering informative and training sessions, and leading workshops or educational activities.
  2. A solid history of networking and cultivating effective relationships, adapting approaches to meet the varied needs of different audiences.
  3. Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or a willingness to obtain the necessary qualifications and experience.
  4. Proven ability to use initiative and creativity in developing projects, programs, or areas of work.
  5. Willingness to travel to various locations across East Anglia for meetings, events, and training delivery.
  6. A degree or professional qualification in Education, Counseling, Training, Psychology, Community Development, or Youth Work.

Compensation: £29,269 per annum (SCP 18), with progression to £32,076 per annum (SCP 23) through increments.

Working Hours: 36 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent
