Lead Application Support Specialist

Join a dynamic team as we establish a new Application Support division, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of application management.

We are seeking a dedicated and friendly Lead Application Support Specialist to develop and guide a team of 3-4 analysts specializing in 2nd and 3rd line support.

As part of our organization, you will oversee the daily operations of the support team, ensuring optimal performance of all applications while providing technical leadership and mentorship to your team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and lead a new Application Support Team, transitioning support functions onshore.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical support for Microsoft technologies, including .NET, SQL Server, and web-based applications.
  • Identify skill gaps within the team and implement training and development initiatives.
  • Assess demand and capacity needs, effectively managing resources.
  • Encourage collaboration and communication with other IT departments for seamless operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and empower a team of application support professionals.
  • Experience in managing service desk operations and adhering to service level agreements.
  • Strong understanding of risk management principles in service delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and independently as required.
  • Excellent management skills, including delegation, coaching, and conflict resolution.

Strategic Thinking:

  • Ensure systems are updated and secure with the latest patches and software upgrades.
  • Manage the upgrade process for legacy applications.
  • Deliver individual objectives and project milestones on time and within budget.
  • Maintain high availability and performance across the application portfolio.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with Windows Server operating systems.
  • Experience with ASP.NET hosting environments (IIS).
  • Knowledge of .NET applications (C#, VB.NET) and REST APIs.
  • Experience with MS SQL Server and Azure.

Soft Skills:

  • Exceptional documentation and communication skills.
  • Strong relationship management abilities.
  • Proficient in Citrix delivery solutions and MS Office applications.
