This role presents an exciting opportunity to establish and develop a new support team, consisting of 5-6 members.
We are seeking a personable and seasoned Application Support Manager who is eager to build and guide a team of 3-4 application support analysts specializing in 2nd and 3rd line support.
Our client is recognized for their supportive and collaborative environment, where operational demands are met with a focus on team cohesion and individual growth.
The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of the support team, ensuring optimal performance of all applications and providing essential technical guidance to team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and lead a new Application Support Team, transitioning support operations onshore and on-premises.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality technical support for Microsoft Stack technologies, including .NET, ASP, ASPX, SQL Server, T-SQL, Web Services, and Citrix applications.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and ensure readiness to tackle technical challenges associated with the technologies utilized by the organization.
- Assess demand, capacity, and competency needs for the team while effectively managing resources.
- Encourage collaboration and communication with other IT departments to facilitate seamless operations.
Ideal Candidate Attributes:
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and empower a team of application support specialists, fostering skill development.
- Experience in managing a service desk and incident operations, adhering to Service and Operational Level Agreements.
- Familiarity with risk management principles and a risk-based approach to service management.
- Capability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels, whether as part of a team or independently.
- Strong management skills, including delegation, influence, coaching, performance evaluation, and conflict resolution.
Strategic Thinking:
- Ensure systems are updated and secure with the latest patches and software updates.
- Plan and execute upgrades for end-of-life applications.
- Achieve individual objectives and project milestones within budget and on schedule.
- Maintain high uptime and performance across the application portfolio.
