About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Helpline Advisor to join our National Contact Centre team in Cardiff. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support and guidance to victims of crime and their families, helping them navigate the complexities of the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to victims of crime, providing emotional support, information, and referrals to relevant services and agencies.
  • Provide immediate support and advice to victims of major incidents and terrorism, including trauma first aid referrals.
  • Work seamlessly across multiple services, managing competing priorities and needs.
  • Take disclosures and respond appropriately, escalating safeguarding concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Officer or responding immediately to life-threatening situations.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in challenging environments with a focus on excellence in service delivery.
  • Ability to deal sensitively with emotionally charged situations, demonstrating empathy and control over emotions.
  • Effective communication skills, including telephone skills and written communication.
  • Knowledge of relevant agencies and resources, importance of confidentiality and safe working practices, diversity issues, and the impact of crime.
