Join Us in Ensuring Clean Water for Scotland.
While many may overlook the journey of water from source to tap, at Scottish Water, it is our primary focus.
Are you ready to be part of a dedicated team that guarantees the purity of Scotland's water supply?
Your Role
As a Wastewater Operations Specialist, you will be integral to a team committed to maintaining the cleanliness of Scotland's water. This role encompasses not only compliance with regulations but also the pursuit of innovative methods to enhance our environmental stewardship.
Your daily responsibilities will include overseeing and optimizing wastewater treatment processes, from sedimentation to filtration. You will meticulously record essential data and compile reports, while also conducting tests and analyzing samples to identify areas for improvement. Regular maintenance oversight will be part of your duties to ensure seamless operations.
Your Qualifications
We will provide comprehensive training on the technical aspects of the role. However, you should possess strong communication skills and be comfortable working independently.
Are you adept at adapting to new technologies? That’s a plus, as we embrace modern solutions.
Attention to detail is crucial; you will ensure that the risk of errors in data recording and health and safety compliance is minimized. A keen eye for detecting changes and trends will be beneficial, as will your problem-solving skills. Additionally, you will participate in the standby rota for out-of-hours responsibilities.
A valid driving license is required, and while we provide the vehicle, be prepared for the realities of working in treatment facilities.
Our Commitment to You
We understand that work is just one aspect of life, which is why we prioritize your work-life balance.
Enjoy a generous leave policy with 38 days of holiday annually, including public holidays, with the option to purchase additional days. We also encourage community involvement through paid volunteer time.
Our family-friendly policies support significant life events, and we promote flexible working arrangements.
For your future, we offer a pension plan, life assurance, and an annual company bonus, along with access to exclusive rewards that can help you save on various expenses.
Important Information
This position is classified as Grade 4, with a starting salary that reflects your experience and performance-driven progression opportunities.
We value diversity and encourage applications from individuals who may not meet every single requirement. Everyone has a learning curve, and we believe in fostering potential.
If you require any adjustments during the recruitment process, please let us know. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all candidates.
As part of our dedication to a thriving Scotland, we require all employees to be Scottish taxpayers. If you are not currently residing in Scotland, you will need to relocate within your first three months.
Lastly, candidates who have not applied in the last year will have their records removed from our recruitment database automatically.
