Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Education Group at either our Birmingham or Manchester office. The successful candidate will lead our education projects, working closely with the Education Lead and a team of engineers, energy modellers, and BIM technicians to deliver projects from concept design to RIBA Stage 3 draft Contractor Proposal stages.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and lead our education projects, working closely with the Education Lead and the project team.
  • Responsible for leading a team of engineers, energy modellers, and BIM technicians to deliver projects from concept design to RIBA Stage 3 draft Contractor Proposal stages.
  • Manage the project through the Final Contractor Proposal stage and oversee the construction stages.
  • Support the development of our design and modelling processes and the associated team through having a deep understanding of the business modelling and BIM requirements to meet the DfE requirements.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in client engagement through the CEM (Client engagement meeting) process and fast track pace required for these projects.
  • Experience in leading several different projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to challenge design solutions to achieve the optimum design to meet the Client's and Project brief.
