RPS Group is currently seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in a dynamic role. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to utilize their expertise in mechanical design engineering to deliver innovative solutions for our clients.

About the Role:

  • Develop detailed mechanical building services design engineering for new build and refurbishment construction projects
  • Collaborate with senior staff to conduct feasibility studies, concept and scheme design stages
  • Participate in design team meetings and contribute to the development of project design
  • Inspect and report on mechanical building services systems to ensure compliance with legislative and health and safety requirements
  • Utilize building services software for calculations and produce marked up drawings for CAD or direct CAD design drawings for issue
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards for mechanical services

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in designing principle mechanical systems from concept to detailed design (BSRIA BG6 Stage 4A)
  • Proven expertise in ventilation design, chilled water, comfort cooling, domestic hot and cold water systems, public health, heating systems, above ground drainage, and HVAC control principles
  • Proficient in the use of Hevacomp or IES software and AutoCAD
  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance associated with mechanical systems
