Job Summary:

RPS is seeking a highly skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Education Group at either our Birmingham or Manchester office. This role offers a great opportunity for career progression and allows for hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and lead education projects
  • Work alongside the Education Lead
  • Lead a team of engineers, energy modellers, and BIM technicians to deliver projects from concept design to RIBA Stage 3 draft Contractor Proposal stages
  • Manage projects through the Final Contractor Proposal stage and oversee construction stages
  • Support the development of design and modelling processes and the associated team

Requirements:

  • Experience in client engagement through the CEM process and fast-track pace required for these projects
  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously
  • Support external architects and RPS energy modellers in delivering modelling requirements
  • Liaise with the BIM team to refine deliverables
  • Ability to challenge design solutions to achieve optimum design
