Job Description:

Astute People are seeking an experienced Environmental Sustainability Manager to join our team at a new build Energy from Waste Power Station in the UK. As the facility's Environmental Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining site-wide compliance on all environmental issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Environmental Compliance: Act as the lead point of contact on all environmental issues, including liaising with external bodies and regulators to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  2. Environmental Management System: Manage the Environmental Management System and all associated documentation to ensure seamless operations.
  3. Reporting and Monitoring: Create reports relating to emissions to air, land, and water for the Environment Agency, as well as consumable and waste deliveries in/out reports.
  4. Support to Operations Team: Support the Operations Team with dust, noise, and odour surveys and environmental monitoring to ensure a safe working environment.
  5. CEMS and CDAS Management: Manage the Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and Computer Data Acquisition Systems (CDAS) to ensure compliance with BS 14181:2014.
  6. Sampling and Testing: Manage the sampling and testing of Incinerator Bottom Ash (IBA) and Air Pollution Control Residue (APCR) to ensure quality and compliance.
  7. Environmental Training: Develop and deliver Environmental Training to ensure all staff are aware of their environmental responsibilities.
Requirements:
  1. Education: Ideally degree qualified in a technical or environmental background.
  2. Qualifications: A NEBOSH certificate qualification is required as a minimum for this position.
Personal Skills:
  1. Strong Background: Strong background in Environmental Science gained in a heavy process or engineering environment.
  2. Knowledge: Knowledge of Emissions and Waste Permits, including IBA, APCR, CEMS, etc.
