Job Title: Environmental and Safety Engineer

Location: Barrow-In-Furness

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Environmental and Safety Engineer to join our Product Environmental team. As an environmental specialist, you will be involved in a wide range of environmental activities, including supporting system owners with design of systems, undertaking environmental impact and risk assessments, and collating evidence and producing documents to support the environmental case.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support system owners with design of systems to ensure environmental sustainability
  • Undertake environmental impact and risk assessments to identify potential environmental risks
  • Collate evidence and produce documents to support the environmental case
  • Support net zero and carbon management/foot printing activities
  • Engage with stakeholders across organisations and disciplines to ensure customer requirements are met

Requirements:

  • Understanding of sustainability and environmental requirements in product design
  • Understanding of environmental assessment and identification of environmental aspects across the lifecycle
  • Ability to evaluate environmental and technical data
  • Understanding of net zero and carbon management/foot printing
  • Report writing/presentation skills and ability to effectively convey environmental information
  • Degree or equivalent in Environmental or Sustainability related discipline
