About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Development Manager to join our team at Workonblockchain. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading our development team and driving the delivery of high-quality software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership: Develop close, trusting relationships with our senior team and other heads of department to ensure the principles of development excellence are integrated into our process and output.
  2. Team Management: Manage a team of 35 Software Engineers, Testers, and Architects, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to help them reach their full potential.
  3. Performance Management: Define, share, and monitor personal performance targets for all team members, ensuring they meet quality, billability, and adherence to estimates.
  4. Quality Assurance: Ensure that the quality of team outputs meets the brief, exceeds client expectations, and meets best practices at all times.
  5. Business Development: Support our new business team through the pitch process, providing ballparks, proposal documents, and presenting our capabilities to clients.
  6. Recruitment: Manage recruitment for your department with sign-off and support from the relevant Business Unit Leader.
  7. Training and Development: Create Personal Development Plans for team members and support them to achieve these.
  8. Disaster Recovery: Plan, manage, and support Disaster Recovery testing activities and reporting.
  9. Compliance and Security: Work directly with our Compliance, Legal, and IT teams to ensure issues and problems are escalated swiftly.
  10. Certifications and Partnerships: Ensure that a department plan is in place to obtain partnership status and that all training requirements are obtained and refreshed.
  11. Resource Planning: Work with our operations and client-facing teams to understand forecasts and develop resource plans.
  12. Team Capacity and Capability: Monitor team annual leave to ensure that appropriate team capacity and capability is available to the business year-round.

Requirements:

  1. Experience in growing teams, including extension and expansion to accommodate new capabilities and offerings.
  2. Proven track record in delivering transformative business systems to customers.
  3. Track record of reviewing and onboarding new technologies in line with strategic direction.
  4. Experience in growing and evolving department systems and processes with clear KPIs and outcomes.
  5. Quality-focused approach, including experience managing and evolving an integrated QA team.
  6. Experience dealing with senior stakeholders within business and with clients.
  7. Skills and experience to pitch to prospective clients.
  8. Team performance management experience, creating smart objectives for team members and department.
