Data Quality Assurance Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at the East of England Ambulance Service. As a Data Quality Assurance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our data, which is essential for making informed decisions and delivering high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve data quality issues across multiple systems, including the Data Warehouse and Data Lake.
- Extract, collate, and interpret information from multiple Trust systems, using advanced data extraction skills and SQL.
- Work with Asset Owners to resolve system-related data quality issues affecting Trust reporting.
- Collaborate with Operational teams to create and refine processes to reduce input of incorrect data and user errors.
- Develop and deliver training in data quality processes and systems.
- Prepare and deliver detailed assurance reports on identified data quality issues for escalation through internal governance processes.

The Data Quality Assurance team is a small, collaborative, and open team that interacts with multiple teams across the organisation. We are committed to improving data quality and are looking for a skilled professional to join our team.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate level education in Computing and IT or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Demonstrable experience in a role involving specialist knowledge of at least one Trust system, such as oCleric CAD (999) or oGRS (Rostering).
- In-depth understanding of the National Standards, Policies, and Procedures governing the Organisation.
- Advanced data extraction skills, including SQL, and Power BI qualification or evidence of advanced use.
Desirable:
- Professional registration with the British Computer Society (FEDIP/RITTECH).
- Understanding of several disciplines, such as financial management, performance management, information systems, and staff management.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
- Ability to prepare and deliver training in data quality processes and systems.
- Able to learn new systems and processes through personal development and structured training.
- Ability to challenge stakeholders on their processes.
- Excellent Microsoft skills, including advanced Excel.
- In-depth knowledge of the Trust's National Reporting Guidelines (including AQIs).
Experience:
- Experience of using a data quality software tool, such as Aperture, to manage data quality rules and reporting.
- Experience of managing data security, including managing access requests to data systems in line with agreed processes and policies.
- Experience of working with highly complex and sensitive data.
Personal Qualities, Abilities, and Attributes:
- In-depth understanding of the NHS and Data Protection Policies.
- Good planning and organisational skills to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work as a team to resolve data quality issues across multiple systems.
- Confidence and ability to act and implement changes as the Trust's technical specialist advising Organisation Leaders on the changes required to meet the National Reporting Requirements.
