Working Style: Fixed-base worker

Please note this is a full time position working 37 hours per week, with shift patterns including AM 07:00 - 14:30 and PM 14:00 - 21:30.

About You

As a vital member of our team, you will participate in a rota system designed to meet the diverse needs of our residents. We seek an experienced caregiver who embodies a person-centered approach, demonstrating flexibility and reliability. Previous experience in a similar role is essential, and you will receive comprehensive training and a paid induction.

This position focuses on being a dedicated, adaptable, and enthusiastic team player within a residential/short break service, ensuring high-quality support for adults. You will collaborate closely with individuals, their families, and other professionals in a residential setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals in achieving their maximum independence and control over their daily lives, following their care plans. Provide support with personal care, medication management, meal preparation, and laundry.
  • Facilitate access to social and recreational activities, including educational classes, community resources, and other engaging pursuits.
  • Monitor the emotional and general well-being of individuals daily, ensuring the protection of vulnerable adults and reporting any concerns to senior management.
  • Empower individuals to make choices that respect their dignity and privacy, in alignment with their care plans and relevant documentation.
  • Maintain respectful, patient, and courteous interactions with individuals, their families, visitors, and colleagues, both within the home and in the community.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent through experience, with a commitment to achieving this qualification within 24 months of employment.
  • Experience in a social care environment and working effectively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build rapport with diverse groups.
  • Some experience working with adults with disabilities or a strong desire to enter this field.
  • Understanding of a person-centered approach, with respect for dignity and privacy, and a focus on promoting choice.
  • Knowledge of the needs of individuals and relevant legislation regarding Vulnerable Adults and Mental Capacity.
  • Willingness to undertake necessary training, including Manual Handling, First Aid Awareness, Food Hygiene, Risk and Conflict Management, Data Protection, and Health and Safety.
