Required Qualifications:

  • A valid teaching certification for the relevant grade levels and subject areas.
  • Proven expertise in effective instructional strategies and educational best practices.
  • Proficient in utilizing assessment data to guide instructional decisions.
  • Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support or Response to Intervention frameworks.
  • Experience in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and improve student outcomes.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with peers on curriculum development, instructional methods, and assessment strategies.
  • Willingness to integrate literacy across various subjects.
  • Openness to professional growth, reflective practices, and adaptability in teaching methods.
  • Skills in developing learning objectives aligned with educational standards and creating comprehensive lesson plans tailored to student needs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Experience with Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous successful teaching experience at the upper elementary level.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in educational settings.
  • Proficiency in using various educational technologies, including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and interactive teaching tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set and communicate clear learning objectives for all educational activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on content, assessment, and instructional practices.
  • Design lesson plans and instructional materials, providing tailored support to meet individual student needs.
  • Assess students' academic and social development, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports.
  • Coordinate the efforts of staff and volunteers in classroom activities and field experiences.
  • Establish and uphold standards of student behavior to foster a productive learning environment.
  • Be available to students and parents for educational discussions during and outside of instructional hours.
  • Support students with individualized education plans (IEPs) or 504 plans.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • This role involves extended periods of standing, sitting, and walking.
  • Occasional lifting of educational materials and rearranging classroom furniture may be required.
  • Work may occur in both indoor and outdoor settings, with potential travel for field trips.
