About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Theatre Practitioner to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our perioperative care team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient-focused care in our operating theatres.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective care to patients undergoing surgical procedures
  • Assist in emergency situations and initiate emergency procedures as required
  • Coordinate and carry out perioperative care with minimal supervision
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care
  • Support and teach other members of the operating team
  • Lead a team in the operating theatre, utilizing excellent communication skills to ensure efficiency and safety

Person Specification

We are looking for a Theatre Practitioner with the following qualifications and experience:

  • RGN/ODP qualification
  • Post-reg anaesthetic qualification (if RGN)
  • Teaching/mentorship qualification
  • Theatre qualification

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

  • Previous theatre experience
  • Knowledge of relevant surgical procedures
  • Experience of caring for critically ill patients
