Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and skilled occupational therapist to join our dynamic Trauma and Orthopaedic team at the Princess Royal University Hospital. As a clinical lead, you will work closely with the clinical lead occupational therapist for general surgery to provide assessment, rehabilitation, and discharge planning for patients admitted to trauma, orthopaedics, fracture, and general surgery specialisms.

Main Duties
  • Oversee, coordinate, and develop the orthopaedic occupational therapy service at the Princess Royal University Hospital.
  • Provide specialist assessment, consultancy, and intervention of patients' occupational needs within the inpatient setting as clinically indicated.
  • Carry a caseload of patients with complex health and social care needs using evidence-based practice and client-centered principles to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to a team of qualified members of staff and develop their clinical, teaching, and managerial skills.
  • Maintain a high standard of autonomous working and supervision of others in complex assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
  • Identify areas for service development and projects for the team to complete.
  • Participate in CPD sessions through journal clubs, in-service skills training, and peer support.
