Senior Business Analyst - Energy Trading Systems
Overview:
Intec Select is seeking a highly skilled Senior Business Analyst to spearhead the analysis, design, and execution of improvements to our Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems. The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of ETRM platforms, outstanding analytical skills, and a strategic approach to foster innovation and operational efficiency within trading functions.
This full-time position will be based in our London office, and the selected individual will be responsible for:
- Leading the assessment of intricate business requirements, outlining processes, and proposing enhancements to ETRM systems to align with business goals.
- Acting as the main point of contact between business units and IT, ensuring effective communication and alignment on project objectives and outcomes.
- Designing and supervising the deployment of sophisticated ETRM solutions, including tailored functionalities, to improve trading operations and risk management processes.
- Conducting comprehensive testing and validation of new system features, ensuring they meet high-quality standards and business requirements prior to implementation.
- Providing mentorship and support to junior analysts, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a technical business analyst capacity within the energy trading domain.
- Proven experience with Endur/Findur, including the ability to analyze and resolve complex business challenges, along with a deep understanding of their architecture and customization options, including integration.
- Comprehensive knowledge of energy trading and risk management (ETRM) end-to-end business processes, encompassing trade exchange integration, trade capture, trade valuation, confirmations, invoicing, and risk reporting.
- As a technical business analyst, strong proficiency in T-SQL (SQL Server or Oracle) is essential. Familiarity with Python, Java, or similar scripting languages is advantageous.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Financial and Physical North American Power and Gas Markets.
- Familiarity with US or EU Renewables Trading.
- Exceptional project management capabilities, with a proven history of leading large-scale ETRM implementation or enhancement initiatives.
- Experience in designing in-house ETRMs or transitioning to different ETRMs is highly valued.
