Position Overview: Vice President of Site Selection
We are in search of an experienced Vice President of Site Selection to spearhead our initiatives in pinpointing and securing prime locations for our data center operations. This pivotal executive role is essential in guaranteeing that our facilities are strategically positioned in both cost-effective and operationally advantageous areas. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in real estate, site selection, and project management specifically within the technology or data center sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute strategies to discover new data center locations on a global scale.
- Conduct comprehensive market evaluations to identify sites that fulfill technical, economic, and regulatory criteria.
- Carry out thorough due diligence on prospective sites, including risk evaluations and feasibility analyses.
- Oversee financial models to evaluate cost impacts and negotiate land purchases.
- Lead interdisciplinary teams throughout the site selection and project management phases.
- Establish and nurture relationships with key stakeholders and represent the organization in various forums.
- Provide regular updates and reports regarding site selection advancements to senior management.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by Management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in site selection, real estate, or project management.
- Strong analytical capabilities, familiarity with land acquisition, zoning, and project management experience.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.
