Job Description

As a Governance Expert at Nationwide Building Society, you will play a crucial role in providing end-to-end governance advice and support to enable the effective running of remediation and change initiatives. You will work closely with Delivery Managers and Delivery Leads to ensure the smooth execution of projects, focusing on governance, risk management, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide governance advice and support to project teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure consistency and effectiveness.
  • Identify, log, and articulate risks and issues, and escalate them to relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Collaborate with project teams to create programme plans, identify risks, and manage slippages and associated impacts.
  • Establish and maintain governance repositories and project mailboxes to ensure accurate and timely information sharing.
  • Work with risk and policy stakeholders to identify society attestations and progress returns.
Requirements
  • Proven project management experience, ideally within a financial services institution.
  • Experience in following a governance framework through a project lifecycle.
  • Ability to identify, log, and articulate risks and issues, and escalate them to relevant stakeholders as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
