Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to make a real difference in the lives of pupils with SEN needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Teaching and Learning Process: Provide support to the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Individual and Group Support: Work with pupils on an individual or group basis to support their academic and personal development.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of differentiated lessons and resources.
  • Behaviour and Emotional Support: Implement strategies to support pupils with SEN in managing their behaviour and emotions.
  • Positive Learning Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Pupil Progress Monitoring: Monitor and report on pupil progress, maintaining detailed records as required.
  • Communication and Liaison: Liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each pupil.
  • Supervision: Supervise pupils during breaks, lunchtimes, and other school activities.
Essential Requirements
  • HLTA Qualification: Must hold a recognised HLTA qualification.
  • SEN Experience: Proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly those with ASD, ADHD, and SEMH needs.
  • Transportation: Must have access to your own vehicle, as the location is not easily accessible by public transport.
  • DBS Check: A valid DBS on the Update Service, or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Safeguarding Commitment: A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
