Outfitting and Maintenance Project Leader

JOB OBJECTIVE

The Superintendent of Refurbishment and Maintenance oversees the strategic planning, management, and execution of outfitting initiatives for a complete class of MSC vessels.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Assess the requirements for outfitting projects, ranging from minor to significant tasks, to ensure the assigned fleet of vessels remains in optimal condition;

· Conduct regular site visits to shipyards or vessels to inspect the maintenance of onboard interiors;

· Direct, monitor, and uphold the overall outfitting projects scheduled for the designated class of vessels;

· Implement an effective supervision process to guarantee that objectives, quality standards, and guidelines are achieved, while ensuring projects remain within budget and timelines;

· Facilitate mock-up evaluations and initial production inspections of communal areas, guest accommodations, corridors, and similar spaces, excluding technical domains such as machinery and HVAC;

· Manage and coordinate any necessary modifications in collaboration with operational departments, designers, and architects;

· Provide progress reports that emphasize timelines, critical milestones, costs, inspection completions, and quality assurance;

· Identify and mitigate potential risks, swiftly resolving issues to maintain project momentum;

· Prepare and deliver presentations of varying scales to executive stakeholders;

· Foster positive relationships with all internal stakeholders, including shipyard management, coordinators, and contractors;

· Follow up on identifying and coordinating repairs that fall within the contractual warranty period established with suppliers;

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

· Proficient in English (both spoken and written); knowledge of French or Italian is advantageous;

· A Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Naval Architecture is preferred but not mandatory;

· Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Refurbishment Supervisor or Site Manager;

· Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Word, Excel (including formulas and tables), PowerPoint, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and Rhino;

· Demonstrated knowledge of SOLAS and IMO regulations;

· Ability to interpret detailed design and technical schematics;

· Excellent interpersonal skills with a strong capacity to communicate effectively across all management levels and diverse cultures;

· Possess hands-on management abilities; self-motivated with the capability to mobilize teams and resources in a fast-paced environment;

· Exceptional organizational skills and a proven track record of managing multiple projects/activities in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, along with the ability to work under tight deadlines and handle challenging situations.
