Position Overview

NHS Lanarkshire is offering both full-time and part-time positions for a Clinical Nurse Specialist within the Medical Assessment/Frailty Unit. As a vital member of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for evaluating patient care requirements and developing tailored care plans, as well as executing and assessing these plans to ensure the provision of exceptional care to patients. The Clinical Nurse Specialist is expected to perform all necessary care tasks independently and may also be required to instruct and oversee both registered and unregistered staff, including student nurses.

Key Responsibilities

Duties may differ based on the specific ward or department and the level of patient dependency.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist will lead, coordinate, and supervise the activities of other personnel within the ward or department to encourage best practices in patient care. In the absence of the senior charge nurse or team leader, you will ensure the smooth operation of the ward or department.

Required Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Registration
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a team and independently
  • Strong listening, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to collaborate with individuals and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent time management abilities
  • Basic proficiency in information technology

Employment Details

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: Full-time & Part-time (37 & 34.1 hours)

Please note that for part-time positions, the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis.

Location and Work Schedule

This role is situated within the Medical Assessment/Frailty Unit.

The work schedule for this position is rotational.
