About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Land Manager to join our team at Orbit Group, a leading developer of affordable housing in the UK. As a key member of our land acquisition team, you will play a crucial role in identifying, negotiating, and acquiring residential development opportunities for new high-quality housing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and source new land opportunities that align with our growth strategy and financial plan
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts to identify and source land opportunities
  • Monitor planning applications and approvals to identify potential development sites
  • Coordinate internal evaluation of potential sites with colleagues and consultants
  • Liaise with local authorities and Homes England to negotiate funding and public asset opportunities
  • Undertake initial financial appraisals of sites, considering planning and technical aspects
Requirements
  • Proven experience of the land acquisition and planning process in the private and/or RSL sector
  • Good knowledge of the regional markets and ability to build strong business relationships
  • Skilled in appraising land opportunities and producing financial appraisals
  • Experience of preparing and managing budgets
  • Commercially astute in a highly competitive environment
