About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Russian Games Tester and Linguistic Quality Assurance (LQA) Specialist to join our team at Universally Speaking. As a key member of our LQA team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the linguistic accuracy and cultural relevance of games and applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Linguistic Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough testing of games and applications to identify linguistic bugs and ensure cultural relevance.
  • Test Case Management: Create and execute test cases to validate the accuracy of in-game text and cultural rules.
  • Bug Reporting: Write detailed bug reports using industry-standard bug databases, highlighting issues and providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with developers and QA teams to ensure seamless integration of LQA processes and effective communication of test results.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing changes to enhance the quality of our services.
Requirements
  • Language Skills: Native-level proficiency in Russian and excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Passion for Games: A genuine passion for video games and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and a focus on quality, with the ability to identify and report linguistic bugs.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with bug databases and test case management tools.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in LQA, translation, or proofreading, particularly in the gaming industry.
  • Software Tools: Familiarity with software tools used in LQA testing, such as test case management and text editing tools.
  • CAT Tools: Working knowledge of CAT tools, such as MemoQ.
  • Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of the video game industry and trends.
