The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Commercial Contracting Specialist to join our Finance Function at Abbott, a leading global healthcare company. This role can be based out of our Abingdon or Maidenhead office.

As a Commercial Contracting Specialist, you will support our Toxicology Business Unit internationally to achieve our contracting, strategic pricing, and governance goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage contract workflow, including drafting, redlining, negotiation, execution, and storage for all customer contracts and relevant data protection agreements.
  • Lead the implementation of a contract review and governance framework, working closely with commercial, finance, and legal teams to align with our Division objectives.
  • Build and maintain a contract master repository, ensuring timely follow-up on renewal dates and key commitments.
  • Coordinate and contribute to commercial contract reviews for new business and tenders.
  • Make recommendations on contract clauses or escalate for legal review.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of key customer contracts across international markets.
  • Support Value-Based Pricing (VBP) and Gross Margin Improvement (GMI) initiatives.
  • Occasional travel to other Abbott markets.

Required Qualifications/Profile

  • Previous experience in commercial contracting, pricing, finance, accounting, and/or sales operations is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in large, multinational corporations is essential.
  • Paralegal degree or other legal qualifications would be an advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Analytical thinker with attention to detail and task-driven.
  • Strong computer skills, especially MS Office.
  • Able to interact with key stakeholders at a senior level.
