Position Overview:
The Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice will engage in a comprehensive learning experience that integrates electronic, mechanical, computer, and control skills within a professional environment.

This role involves hands-on training with sophisticated manufacturing systems, where you will develop the ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair systems to optimize operational efficiency.

The primary focus of this position is to acquire the necessary skills to uphold safety standards, assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution machinery, and ensure timely and high-quality preventative maintenance to maximize equipment availability through ongoing improvements.

As an Amazon MRA apprentice, you will be involved in the assembly and upkeep of intricate machines and systems within the Reliability & Maintenance Engineering sector or related organizations that utilize such mechatronic systems.

You will be paired with experienced mentors to facilitate your learning at various facilities, including those with advanced automation and robotics operations.

Apprentices are expected to follow technical documentation and adhere to safety regulations while performing their duties.

Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct preventative and predictive maintenance on conveyance systems using established job plans and manuals.
• Maintain and repair distribution center shelving.
• Complete maintenance routines and documentation as required.
• Manage department inventory, including spare parts.
• Foster positive working relationships across all organizational levels.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues related to material handling equipment.
• Maintain and troubleshoot various components such as motors, sensors, and relays.
• Assist with basic electronics and Programmable Logic Controllers troubleshooting.
• Physical Requirements (must be able to perform with or without reasonable accommodation):
o Lift and transport items weighing up to 49 pounds;
o Engage in regular bending, lifting, and reaching activities;
o Occasionally handle heavy loads during site assessments.
• Demonstrate full manual dexterity in both hands and wrists.
• Navigate facilities with high frequency; facilities may span considerable lengths.
• Safely climb ladders and gangways without restrictions.
• Maintain coordination in eye/hand movements and manual tasks.
• Working conditions may include confined spaces, exposure to dust, varying temperatures, and standing for extended periods.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must pass FAA and DHS background checks for access to security-sensitive areas, if applicable.
• Must be eligible for airport authority and/or US Customs security badges, if applicable.
• This position may require compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) drug and alcohol testing regulations.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum age of 18 years.
• Willingness to participate in a 12-week training program at designated training providers.
• Must achieve the minimum qualifying score on a Mechanical Aptitude Test.
• Flexibility to work various schedules, including weekends and holidays.
