Job Title: Education Support Specialist

Main Responsibilities:
  • Support teachers in delivering high-quality education to students, ensuring they receive the best possible learning experience.
  • Work with small groups of students, providing individualized support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of lesson plans, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive and engaging education.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to identify and address the needs of students, providing targeted support to help them succeed.
  • Contribute to the creation of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (minimum).
  • Knowledge of statutory requirements for health and safety, SEN, and child safeguarding.
  • Ability to work independently with groups or individual students, supported by teachers.
  • Ability to work with challenging students, understanding their needs and demonstrating effective behavior management strategies.
  • Experience of working at an advanced level with teachers in planning and delivering teaching activities, including activities defined in Individual Education Plans.
  • Experience of teaching children with Education Health Care Plans and Special Educational Needs, including language difficulties or other complex needs.
  • Determination to raise the levels of achievement of children and ability to cope with emotionally demanding situations.
What We Offer:
  • A competitive salary of £19, £21,349.29 pro-rata (based on £23,000 - £24,960 full-time equivalent per annum).
  • Full-time, 37 hours per week (Term Time Only, 39 Weeks).
  • A fixed-term contract until July 2025.
  • Access to a car and a full driving license is a requirement of this role.
