Join our team as a Bakery Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:

  • Prepare and present high-quality food products, including sandwiches, baked goods, and other items, to meet customer expectations.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process customer transactions efficiently and accurately, maintaining a positive and friendly service.
  • Upsell selected products to customers, highlighting multi-buy offers and ensuring maximum sales.
  • Adhere to all food handling, safety, and sanitation standards when storing, preparing, and serving food, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor.

Store Operations:

  • Work stock, checking deliveries, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean and organized sales floor, rotating stock to ensure freshness and timely expiration dates.
  • Complete additional assigned tasks, such as date checking, stock and gap checking, price changes, promotional displays, and other tasks as required.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

  • Previous experience in a similar role and/or industry is preferred.
  • Reliably follows instructions and procedures with excellent attention to detail.
  • Some understanding of legislative responsibilities of a retail environment and the skills to assist with adherence.
  • Ability to contribute ideas for delivering exceptional customer service and driving the business forward.
  • Experience of using a 'Challenge 25' policy desirable.
  • Keen and enthusiastic approach to working both in a team and independently.
  • Previous cash handling experience is preferred but not essential.
