Biomedical Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our solid cancer team at the Cambridge Genomics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for analysing a range of solid cancer tests, including NGS panels and whole genome sequencing.
Key Responsibilities- Analyse genomic data and report genomics test results
- Deliver and maintain a high-quality diagnostic service to regional oncology services
- Provide advice to clinicians and colleagues on genomics and molecular pathology
- Ensure the continuous improvement and development of laboratory services
- Ensure the continued ISO:15189 compliance of the laboratory using the quality management system
- Liaise with clinical teams and communicate results at Genomics Tumour Advisory Board meetings
- Assist with Healthcare Scientist recruitment, training and supporting continual personal development

Person SpecificationWe are looking for a candidate with a strong background in genomics and molecular pathology. Essential qualifications include a first degree in an appropriate biological science, a Master's Degree in Human Genomics or Molecular Pathology, and registration as a Clinical Scientist with the Health Care Professions Council. Significant scientific work experience in a genomics/molecular laboratory is also essential.
