Job Description:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Convert business opportunities into confirmed sales by providing exceptional customer service and developing strong relationships with clients.
  • Manage and develop the Groups and Events team to achieve successful customer partnerships and drive revenue growth.
  • Coordinate with Revenue Managers and Business Development Managers to ensure effective yield management practices and maximize revenue per available meeting room and bedroom.
  • Handle customer enquiries with a professional telephone manner and respond to enquiries within 24 hours.
  • Develop and expand current existing accounts, focusing on achieving repeat business and upselling opportunities.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date customer records in Opera S&C and sales databases.
  • Contribute to the development and fine-tuning of systems in place within the office and department.
  • Maintain a close liaison with the Business Development Manager, Revenue Managers, and Events and Operations Teams to ensure clear and effective communication regarding customer accounts and bookings.
  • Review payments pre, during, and post-event with clients, ensuring backup is accurate and standards are being followed.
  • Be available to carry out meet and greets with clients and conduct constructive handovers between clients and the Operations Team.
  • Provide detailed monthly reports on Groups and Events sales leads generated from business development research.
  • Oversee the production of Function Sheets on a weekly basis and send to relevant staff members.
  • Supervise operations and logistics of Groups and Events and communicate accordingly with heads of departments.
  • Consistently review own level of skill and actively identify further personal development requirements.
  • Work and cooperate with others, taking part in departmental meetings, team briefings, and project work.
Requirements:
  • At least 4 years of experience in hotel-based similar roles such as Events, Group, and Guest facing Services.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and days depending on operational requirements.
