Position Overview

We are seeking a part-time Band-7 Physiotherapist who is collaborative, motivated, adaptable, and possesses exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

The ideal candidate will engage holistically with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and apply their specialized skills to provide outstanding care and support to patients diagnosed with stroke.

You will collaborate with the MDT in managing patient care and departmental operations. This position will allow you to further cultivate your clinical, leadership, and mentoring capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive physiotherapy evaluations and develop management plans for patients with complex acute stroke, exercising a high degree of autonomy. Collaborate closely with band 7 Specialist ward physiotherapists and other MDT members to ensure that physiotherapy rehabilitation and treatment are seamlessly integrated into patient care and discharge planning. Serve as a resource of expertise in the physiotherapy management of stroke, offering guidance to consultant physicians, patients, caregivers, physiotherapists of all levels, other healthcare professionals, general practitioners, and social services. Execute all clinical responsibilities as an independent practitioner, working without direct oversight. Participate in multidisciplinary and multi-agency meetings as necessary, ensuring well-coordinated care pathways and effective communication through liaison and referrals to other agencies as needed. Provide education and training to Senior and Junior physiotherapists, Assistants, undergraduate and adaptation students, and other healthcare professionals in the physiotherapy management of patients with neurological and stroke-related conditions. Engage in the therapy weekend service rota and on-call rota. Lead the implementation of local clinical governance initiatives and Clinical Audit, presenting findings at integrated meetings as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Qualifications

HCPC registration Degree in Physiotherapy

Essential Experience
