In the role of Project Manager, you will be an integral part of our Operational Team, responsible for the effective execution of Overhead Line Projects.

Potential initiatives will encompass both the comprehensive refurbishment of existing Overhead Power Lines and the development and construction of new Lines essential for ensuring energy security in the UK. Projects are anticipated to be located across various regions.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring that Construction Phase Health & Safety Plans and Quality Plans are established for all operational sites, contributing to the formulation of necessary Policies & Procedures.
  • Verifying that all required documentation is in place, adhered to, and routinely reviewed for all site-based activities.
  • Communicating timely programming and change notifications to support other internal departments.
  • Providing technical assistance to the Design department as needed.
  • Acting as the primary contact for correspondence and meetings with third parties.
  • Collaborating closely with the Head of Operations and Head of Portfolio to coordinate and allocate suitable resource levels across projects.
  • Capturing contract changes and compensation events, ensuring that cost and schedule impact evaluations are conducted with the Commercial team.
  • Utilizing project control to enhance efficiency and profitability of projects.
  • Ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant submissions of time bookings, allowances, and expenses.
  • Generating monthly contract review reports.
  • Preparing project close-out reports.
  • Participating in contract review and progress meetings.
  • Coaching and mentoring members of the project-specific management team.
  • Providing leadership to the project-specific management team.
  • Representing M Group Services with clients and all stakeholders.
  • Maintaining commercial and contractual awareness to ensure proper administration of contracts, safeguarding potential entitlements.
Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Proficient understanding of current Health & Safety legislation.
  • Solid knowledge of administering construction contracts, particularly NEC3/4.
  • Understanding of the fundamental construction elements of the UK electrical transmission and distribution infrastructure.
  • Over 5 years of experience in managing large-scale construction projects as a Project Manager.
  • Experience in client-facing roles with blue-chip clients, including leading discussions with various stakeholders as the senior representative of the organization.
  • Willingness to travel and work from various sites across the UK, with a full clean driving license.
  • Desirable: Operational experience in Overhead Line construction and refurbishment projects.
  • Desirable: Project Management qualifications and/or Degree/Higher Education.
  • Desirable: A recognized Health & Safety qualification, such as NEBOSH General Certificate.
