We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Sector Lead to join our team at BMT Group. As a key member of our Defence Land Domain, you will be responsible for leading our safety efforts and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of safety strategies and policies for the Defence Land Domain
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on safety regulations and standards to project teams and stakeholders
  • Conduct safety assessments and analyses to identify and mitigate risks
  • Develop and maintain safety evidence and documentation to support compliance with defence land regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of our work

Requirements

  • Relevant academic qualifications and/or professional accreditations in an engineering and/or safety discipline
  • Experience of safety assessment and/or independent safety audit
  • Knowledge and experience of safety regulations and standards, including DSA 02: Defence Land Safety Regulator, ASEMS POSMS, Def Stan and Def Stan 00-055
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply processes and tools to develop safety evidence
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels
