About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled System Safety Engineer to join our team at Capgemini Engineering. As a System Safety Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our clients' systems and software, particularly in the defence and nuclear sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement safety standards and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct hazard analysis and risk assessments to identify potential safety risks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement safety-critical systems.
  • Provide safety engineering expertise to support the development of safety-critical software and systems.
  • Develop and maintain safety documentation, including safety cases and safety plans.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience in safety engineering, particularly in the defence and nuclear sectors.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including BS EN 61508 and Def Stan 00-55.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
