About the Role

Lumis Living is seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at our Cardiff site. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the property remains in top condition, performing regular inspections, and coordinating timely repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring the property is well-maintained and safe for residents.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment, communal areas, and student rooms to identify and address any maintenance issues.
  • Supervise and coordinate repairs, ensuring they are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Liaise with external contractors for specialized repairs, ensuring they meet quality standards and timelines.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and minimize repair costs.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with health and safety regulations, including fire safety and building codes.
  • Manage inventory levels of tools, equipment, and spare parts, ensuring stock is available for emergency repairs.
  • Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to reduce operational costs and improve sustainability.
  • Lead and train a small team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure work is carried out to the highest standards.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Supervisor or similar role in facilities management.
  • Strong knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues quickly and efficiently.
  • Experience managing a team and coordinating with external contractors.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations, particularly related to building maintenance.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents and staff.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle emergency situations.
  • Basic IT skills for managing maintenance logs and schedules.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary of £27,000 per annum.
