Lead Systems Engineer - Automotive

Location: Warwick

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Electrical and Electronic department within a prestigious OEM. This role is based in a state-of-the-art facility in the Warwick region.

As a key player in our team, you will engage in various new vehicle development initiatives focused on passenger electric vehicles for the European market.

This multifaceted position allows for collaboration across diverse teams and projects, offering a unique chance to enhance your expertise.

The ideal candidate will possess a robust understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and practical experience with electrical and electronic systems, along with familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the integration, development, and testing of Electrical and Electronic systems, particularly in the areas of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and Body systems.
  • Drive the conceptualization, design, and proof of concept for innovative systems and features.
  • Facilitate the delivery of Systems Engineering artifacts throughout the complete V-cycle, employing model-based design and systems engineering techniques.
  • Conduct analysis and benchmarking of market features.
  • Develop and validate hardware and software solutions using simulation and validation tools for a variety of Electrical and Electronic systems.
  • Ensure Engineering sign-off through Design Verification Plans (DVP) and report on progress from conception to testing.
  • Support software development and testing using programming languages such as C, C++, Python, or Matlab/Simulink.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant technical field.
  • Demonstrated experience with Systems Engineering processes, development, prototyping, and testing of control strategies.
  • Familiarity with MBSE tools like Enterprise Architect and DOORS.
  • Experience in data acquisition and analysis of extensive datasets.
  • Hands-on experience with automotive electrical and electronic systems.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language: C, C++, Python, or Matlab/Simulink.
