About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineering Director to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of our Engineering team, you will provide subject matter expertise and advice to internal and external stakeholders on Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to internal and external stakeholders on Systems Engineering and Model Based Systems Engineering.
  • Coach and mentor engineers in Systems Engineering practices and lead activities to develop and tailor Systems Engineering practices to suit the needs of a particular project or programme of work.
  • Effectively communicate and negotiate with stakeholders to ensure the development and delivery of optimised systems.
  • Demonstrate expertise in a given domain and absorb and process new domain knowledge quickly.
  • Work collaboratively across Engineering disciplines and other Functions to deliver complex engineering projects.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Systems Engineering with a breadth of knowledge and understanding of the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering approaches, processes, and procedures.
  • Sound basis in the science of engineering, including basic physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related discipline.
  • Awareness of the many disciplines that impact on system design, from different branches of engineering through law, commerce, management, logistics, and politics.
  • Member of an appropriate professional institution and Chartered with them, or demonstrable working towards Chartership.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and assist others.
