Job Summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our team at University Hospital Monklands. As a Clinical Pharmacist, you will play a vital role in providing a clinical pharmacy service to patients within medical admissions areas, ensuring the safe and effective use of antimicrobials.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to patients within medical admissions areas
  • Support the safe, effective, and person-centered use of antimicrobials within the hospital
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide advice, support, and training on antimicrobial use
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to optimize antimicrobial use
  • Support the Antimicrobial Management Team within NHS Lanarkshire

Requirements

  • Masters of Pharmacy Degree
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Continuing Professional Development as detailed by the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Relevant post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
  • Postgraduate training and professional development in clinical pharmacy practice
  • Demonstrable experience in providing a clinical pharmacy service to a defined patient group
  • Experience in patient information/education
  • Experience in supervising staff
  • Ability to effectively monitor patients' therapeutic regimens
  • Clinical pharmacy/care planning
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivation
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Proven project/practice research/audit skills

Desirable Qualifications

  • Relevant post-registration experience
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload

Working Arrangements

This role will be based in University Hospital Monklands, with a working pattern of Monday to Friday, 9:00-5:00.
