Role Summary
We are in search of a distinguished Chair or Professor of Practice in Technology Sectoral Analysis. The successful candidate will be integrated into the Dyson School of Design Engineering and affiliated with the Faculty of Engineering. This position also entails serving as Co-Director of the Centre for Sectoral Economic Performance (CSEP), collaborating with an existing Co-Director from the Imperial College Business School.
Centre Objectives
The CSEP, a collaboration between the Business School and the Faculty of Engineering, aims to enhance the competitiveness of the UK's high-value science and technology sectors. With substantial funding from the Gatsby Charitable Foundation, the Centre seeks to develop a national resource that supports the global competitiveness of these industries in the 21st century.
Key Responsibilities
The Co-Directors will share the overall responsibility for achieving the Centre's objectives, which include:
1. **Developing Strategic Initiatives**: Formulating strategies to guide the Centre's projects and themes.
2. **Research Translation**: Engaging in activities that translate research into practical applications.
3. **Governance Compliance**: Monitoring the Centre's activities to ensure adherence to governance standards.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for candidates with a proven track record in leadership roles within industry, ideally across multiple technology sectors. A strong background in both UK and international contexts is preferred. The ideal candidate will possess:
- A world-class record in developing strategies that enhance competitiveness at various levels.
- Experience in advising on and influencing governmental policy.
