Mechanical Design Engineer

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services team in Newcastle. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mechanical design solutions for a range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Produce detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements.
- Liaise with senior engineers and engineering technicians regarding design and drawing.
- Carry out mechanical building services design engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.
- Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages.
- Inspect and report on mechanical building services systems.
- Undertake mechanical design work consisting of surveys, design, drawings, and specifications for projects.
- Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards relating to mechanical services.
- Attend project design meetings, technical meetings, value engineering workshops, and risk workshops as required.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to either IMechE or CIBSE requirements.
- Ability to design principle mechanical systems taken from a concept level of design through to detailed design.
- Use of Hevacomp / IES or equivalent.
- Ability to view and interpret drawings in AutoCAD.
- Understanding of Building Regulations Part L compliance associated with the systems above.
- Use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
