Senior Mechanical Engineer - Building Services

Beeby Anderson Recruitment is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their Building Services team in Newcastle. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for producing detailed design calculations and sketches in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out detailed Mechanical Building Services Design Engineering on new build and refurbishment construction projects.
  • Assist senior staff in feasibility studies, concept, and scheme design stages.
  • Attend design team meetings and inspect mechanical building services systems.
  • Undertake Mechanical design work, including surveys, design, drawings, and specifications for projects.
  • Select and specify products, equipment, and installation standards for Mechanical services.
  • Utilise Building Services software for calculations and produce marked-up drawings for CAD.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and experience commensurate with the underpinning and knowledge requirements for Incorporated Engineer aligned to either IMechE or CIBSE requirements.

You will have a sound knowledge of technical engineering design relevant to the role, including chilled water, domestic hot and cold water systems, heating systems, and Building Regulations Part L compliance.

Additionally, you will have experience with Hevacomp / IES or equivalent software and be able to view and interpret drawings in AutoCAD.

You will be a team player with excellent communication skills and be able to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
