Norse Group Sustainability Advisor Role

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainability Advisor to join our SHEQ team at Norse Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our sustainability journey and ensuring the business can return an ethical profit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement ESG and Net Zero strategies, providing technical and strategic advice to support the Group Sustainability Manager.
  • Lead on the development of the ESG reporting platform, working closely with IT and external providers.
  • Ensure timely collection of data for monthly, quarterly, and annual carbon footprint analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in the development of new ESG and Net Zero strategies, rolling them out across the business.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant changes in legislation and sustainability reporting requirements.
  • Liaise with internal senior managers and directors to advise and influence on all sustainability initiatives.
  • Prepare relevant ESG data or documentation to support bids and tenders.
  • Deliver presentations and tool-box talks on carbon-related matters to internal staff.
  • Carry out energy audits, reporting outcomes and improvement actions as directed.
  • Engage with employees at all levels, building excellent working relationships through regular site visits and identifying ESG risks and potential areas of improvement.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, with a relevant degree in an environmental or sustainability-related discipline.
  • Associate Membership of IEMA (AIEMA), working towards Practitioner Membership.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice governing sustainability.
  • Familiarity with large data sets, data transfer, and Excel formulas.
  • Knowledge of ESG, including social value, carbon reporting, and energy auditing.
