Job Title: Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EIA professional to join our Development Management Team. As an Environmental Impact Assessment Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing screening and scoping opinions, scrutinising Environmental Statements, securing mitigation measures, and working with planning officers on EIA developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare screening and scoping opinions to ensure compliance with The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (as amended)
  • Scrutinise Environmental Statements to identify potential environmental impacts and develop mitigation measures
  • Work with planning officers to ensure that EIA developments are managed and delivered sustainably
  • Manage contracts with external consultants and oversee the finances of the contracts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a detailed understanding of The Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations (as amended) and specific knowledge of the local planning authority's roles and responsibilities. You will also need good time management skills, organisational skills, and an eye for detail, whilst being able to make robust decisions in a timely manner.
